Anthony “Tony” Vincent Bruno Jr.

Anthony “Tony” Vincent Bruno Jr. passed away at his home in Denver, North Carolina, in the early hours of Monday, January 1, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 21, 1941, in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to Anthony Vincent Bruno and Helen Geoghan Bruno.

Tony was baptized Roman Catholic and proudly served in the United States Army. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA in 1968. After earning his degree, Tony had a career as a restauranteur, owning and operating Italian eateries Bruno’s and Anthony’s Northend. Later he worked in government service working for the Internal Revenue Service.

Tony was an avid golfer and reader. He was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Virginia Jacobellis Bruno; his two sons Scott A. Bruno of Iron Station, NC and Gary M. Bruno of East Falmouth, MA; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC.

Tony will be laid to rest by his immediate family at Salisbury National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
