Sarah Connick

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Connick, who was born on January 16, 1989, and left this world on January 26, 2025. Sarah passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.

Sarah was one of God’s most extraordinary gifts, a special angel who graced our lives and hearts in ways words can never fully express. Although Sarah required constant care, in return, she gave us immeasurable blessings and countless lessons. She reminded us daily that life doesn’t always go as planned and to be ready for anything it might throw at you. Sarah taught us that some days will undoubtedly be harder than others, but she also showed us how to find strength in those moments and to appreciate what truly matters. She had an incredible ability to teach without saying a single word, imparting lessons that could not have been learned anywhere else. She helped us cultivate patience, acceptance, compassion, and dependability – all qualities she embodied in her own way.

Her bright smile, warm touch, and the unique expressions that were hers alone reminded us that no matter what challenges we face, there is always something worth smiling about. Sarah’s life was a triumph of courage, love, and resilience, and her impact on everyone who knew her will forever be a testament to the power of unconditional love.

Sarah is survived by her devoted parents, Sandra and William, who were her tireless champions, her loving siblings, Brianna and Killian, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who became family over the years. Together, we celebrated her victories, shared in her joys, and grew stronger through her example.

Though we mourn her loss deeply, we also celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind. Sarah taught us to see the beauty in life’s smallest moments and to cherish the bonds we share. She will forever be remembered as our guiding light and source of inspiration.

A celebration of Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1st from 11am – 1pm at the Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver, NC . In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Holy Angels in Sarah’s honor. Holy Angels, located in Belmont, N.C., provides specialized, round-the-clock care for children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions.

Rest in peace, sweet Sarah.

I feel that my life has been enriched by knowing Sarah Connick and her family. She was sent to the right place; there are so many who considered Sarah a very special friend. It was always a pleasure to see her pretty face and read her expressions of contentment or discontent if she heard music or a noise she didn’t particularly like! When there was a crowd around her, you would know exactly when she spotted her mother! There was a bond between Sarah and her loved ones that was beautiful to see. Sarah, we will miss you, but you have earned your perfect Peace. My sympathy to Sandra, William, Killian, and Brianna, and all of Sarah’s aunts, uncles, and cousins. May the inspiration she gave you during her time on earth continue to lead you on in the years ahead.

My fondest memories of Sarah are the things I recall from Sandra or Bri lovingly sharing.

Sandra never missed an opportunity to broadcast what a loving dad Will was to Sarah. When Bri visited home, she would tell of massaging Sarah’s scalp and braiding her hair to give her sweet sister a break from the ponytail she typically wore. Sarah got to eat her favorite food each day, strawberries and cake!

Sandra spoke of how Sarah was specially placed in the Connick family. I think Sarah was such a lucky girl to be cared for and loved by so many. And how lucky are those who had the opportunity to love her!

I am picturing Sarah dancing at this very moment on streets of gold, waiting for her loved ones in that special place in heaven which Sandra always talks about.

My earliest memories of Sarah are from the Rince na hÉireann Christmas parties. I remember her eyes lighting up and her head nodding in approval as we began the Ceili dances.

Though I can’t say I spent a lot of time with Sarah personally, I felt that I knew her through Sandra’s stories— always the highlight of our tea time after adult dance classes.

It is heartwarming to see the Connick family share all they learned from Sarah: compassion, patience, and acceptance. I have witnessed these qualities through my many years dancing with Sandra. So, I too owe gratitude to Sarah.

I shall pray for peace beyond understanding for the Connick family.

I know one day we will dance Ceili’s together again, Sarah.

    Dear Sandra Connick and family,
I remember Sarah was at the Fiest competition while Susan Houck, a Irish dancing NCSD coach led us NCSD dancers in Charlotte. I was her assistant. Sarah was so sweet spiritually. I was so glad to see her once. You all are remembered in my thoughts and prayers.
May God be comfortable with you and your family during difficult times. His glory and love. ILY Linda Braren
