Edward Eugene Buchanan (Buck), 92, of Denver NC passed away on June 18, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1933 in Waynesville NC to the late Floyd and Delilah Buchanan. Hr was one of 15 children.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ira, Roy, Billy, and Ralph; his sisters Mildred, Louise, Elsie, Joyce, Betty, Patsy, and Martha Sue; daughter Peggy Warnock; and grandsons Joe and Carl Locklear.
Buck is survived by his wife Linda of 44 years, his children Bobby(Phyllis), Billy(Cindy), Judy Lee(Kirk), Linda Hall(David), Jimmy Wayne Hall(Lisa); his sister Barbara Wilkes(Mike) and brother Randy(Wanda); his grandchildren Shelley Laska(Jon), Jackson Warnock(Jennifer), Matthew(Tiffin), Jermy Hall(Anna), Luke Hill, Chelsea Goble(Blake), Lauren Enlow(Nathan), Daniel Buchanan, and Heather Locklear; and his 15 great grandchildren.
Buck retired from Merita Bakery after 35 years of service as a mechanic. He loved fishing, hunting, and going to the beach. He and Linda shared many trips to the Outer Banks fishing. He loved their Schnauzers “The Cowboys” Smokey and The Bandit. They brought him a lot of joy. Buck also loved his church here at Westport Baptist and his Sunday school class “The Jolly Seniors.”
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Westport Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow beginning at 11:00am. Buck will be laid to rest at Westport Baptist Church cemetery following the service.
