Richard Starita

Richard “Richie” Starita76, of Denver, North Carolina, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 5, 2026. Born on September 27, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, Richie proudly served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a successful career on Wall Street, where he dedicated three decades of hard work before retiring. He was also widely known to everyone who knew him as a passionate fitness enthusiast who brought immense energy, discipline, and drive to every aspect of his life.
Richie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frank Starita and Mary Louise Cafiero Starita.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joann; his brothers, William Starita and Robert Starita; as well as a loving extended family of cousins, nephews, and his niece.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home , Denver, NC. He will be buried with military honors on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex , 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which collaborates with T2T on the Building for America’s Bravest program.
