Randy Alan Howie

Randy Alan Howie of Stanley N.C. passed away peacefully after an unexpected, rapid and devastating battle with pancreatic cancer at Novant Hospital on November 26, 2022, in Huntersville, N.C. at the age of 66.

Randy is survived by his wife, Tess,; his son Marc Howie and wife Jane of Lowesville: mother Janet Hager Howie of Lowesville and his brother Johnny Howie and wife Kathy of Lowesville, and his sister-in-law Amy of Iron Station;  grandchildren Isabella Thompson of Cornelius NC, Elisa and Dennis Sprouse of Lowesville, Dakota and Evan Gibson of Shelbyville Kentucky, and great grandchildren Adna, Hank, Emry, Wesleigh, and Callum.

He is preceded in death by his father John Howie and his brother Carroll Howie of Lowesville NC.

Randy was born on June 22, 1956, in Charlotte NC to John and Janet Howie. He graduated from East Lincoln High School in 1974. He married his love at first sight Tess (she thought his tractor was sexy) on July 27, 1974 and began his family. He began a 40 plus year career as a water well pump mechanic for McCall Brothers Inc of Charlotte where he had recently semi-retired from the position of service manager. He will be remembered as a driven and intelligent individual who never saw a problem only solutions and encouraged others to pursue their goals and excel at whatever task they took on.

Randy was accomplished as a water well pump technician and often went above and beyond to ensure that the customer would never “miss the water till the well ran dry”. He was a dedicated individual who loved his wife and family and who was passionate about his hobbies of wood working and metal equipment repair.
