Melvin Douglas Miller

Melvin Douglas Miller went home to the Lord, Sunday, March, 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Carol Miller, his parents, along with several brothers and sisters.

He was born in Lincolnton on July 13, 1941 to Alice Jones and Hasten Miller. He is survived by his son, Steven Douglas Miller (Kim), grandchildren Courtney Miller Barbee (Houston) and Matt Miller; one brother-Don Miller, sister-in-law-Cammie Miller and fiancée-Pauline Stillwell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He joined the Army in 1960 after graduating from Rock Springs High School and progressed to the rank of E4. He was stationed in the 4th Armored Division 126th Ordnance Battalion in Germany for most of his service. He retired in 1999 from Duke Power Company was a dispatcher.

He loved to fish and hunt, and spend time with friends and family. In addition, he loved to go to the farm in the mountains, his home away from home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 2:00pm at Salem United Methodist Church. Visitation to follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Melvin’s memory may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 378 North Pilot Knob Rd, Denver, NC 28037.
