Larry Garland Cody, 68, a man firm in his faith, unexpectedly transitioned from this life on May 1, 2021 at his residence.
Larry was born on December 16, 1952 in Asheville, NC. He was the son of L.G. Cody, Jr. and Willie (Edwards) Cody. He graduated from Oakridge High School in Orlando, Florida and Mid-Florida Technical Institute. He proudly served in the National Guard.
After investing 50 years, Larry retired from the welding and fabrication trade. Most notably he spent several years in Disney World Park Maintenance.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, L.G. Cody Jr.; paternal grandparents Lon Sr. and Rosa Cody; maternal grandparents Willie and Dorsey Edwards; several aunts and uncles and his longtime Feline Buddy, Ray-Ray.
Larry is survived by his mother Willie Edwards Cody; wife Aida Woolley Cody; children Josiah Cody (Mariel), Logan Cody and Lisa Cody; stepdaughter Taryn Anderson (Aaron); 8 grandchildren; brother Gary A. Cody (Deborah); uncle Troy ‘Bud’ Edwards; cousins scattered throughout North Carolina and Tennessee.
A Time of Remembrance will be held at a later date.
Memorials in Larry’s memory may be made to local animal shelters or environmental groups of your choice.
