Jennifer Day Thornburg, 46, of Lincolnton, North Carolina, passed away on July 9, 2026 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC. surrounded by her beloved family and loved ones. Born in Gastonia and raised in the Christmas Town of McAdenville, NC, Jennifer also spent meaningful parts of her life living in Stanley before moving to Lincolnton.

A proud alumna of South Point High School in Belmont, NC, Jennifer continued her education at Gaston College. Since 2022, she served with distinction as a Client Services Ambassador for Saddle Rock Legal Group and Duddy & Czarnecki PLLC. Jennifer was a force of nature in her professional life. As the very first Client Services Ambassador, she was instrumental in building a vital team from the ground up. Her employers and colleagues note that she turned a brand-new concept into a cornerstone department that the entire company came to rely upon.

While she was incredibly proud of her professional achievements, Jennifer’s true crown jewels were her family. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, dedicating her life to ensuring they felt a profound sense of love and had the best life possible. Her mother beautifully encapsulated her spirit by saying, “If Jennifer loved you, she loved you hard and with all of her heart.”

It was often said that “to know Jennifer, is to love Jennifer.” She brought warmth and vibrant energy wherever she went. Jennifer found immense joy in the simple and beautiful things in life: chasing the horizon on trips to both the beach and the mountains, the thrill of Friday and Saturday nights at the dirt track, the bright joy of sunflowers, and the magic of Christmas.

Jennifer was the beloved daughter of Chuck and Lisa Francis. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Alexander Day, step father Carl “Lee” Foster Jr. her maternal grandfather, Arthur Edward Coker, and her paternal grandparents, David Alexander Day, Sr. and Ruth Carver Day. Jennifer is survived by her children, Taylor Thornburg Pressley, son-in-law Jonathan Pressley, Kaitlyn Renee Thornburg, and Kyle Scott Thornburg. Fiancé Ivan “Tug” Truitt, grandchildren Levi and Rosemary. Brother, Joshua R. Day, Maternal grandmother, Pauline Hinson. In addition she is survived by her extended family, including many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

As we bid farewell to Jennifer, we hold onto the comforting words shared by her family: “Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again.” May Jennifer’s spirit continue to guide and inspire us all, and may her memory be a blessing to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

A Celebration of Jennifer’s Life will be held on July 20, 2026, at 6:00 PM at The Barn at Blue Sky Farm, located at 556 Blue Sky Dr, Dallas, NC 28034. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and sharing in the love that she spread so generously.
