Grover LeeRoy Wilkinson, 82, Denver, North Carolina, was called home on September 26, 2019. He was born June 27, 1937 to Fred and Velma Wilkinson. Lee had three brothers, Anthony and Thomas, who predeceased him, and Scott. Lee was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School and Joined the army upon graduation. He met and married his loving wife, Arlene, when he returned from Germany. They had 58 loving years together. They had three daughters, Robin, Kelly and Dawn. Lee worked for Pan Am Airlines and thoroughly enjoyed an exciting career working in aviation. He loved woodworking, traveling, working outside and bird watching. He loved spending time with his family above all. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his daughters: Robin and son-in law Seth, Kelly and son-in law Steven, Dawn and son-in law Anthony, his grandchildren Megan and Laura and his great grandson- Myles. Lee will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was a kind-hearted man, loved by all and adored by his family.
Visiting will take place on Tuesday October 1, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at Lake Norman Lutheran Church; 1445 Highway 16, North Denver, NC 28037.
Funeral Service will take place Wednesday October 2, 2019 at 8:00am at Lake Norman Lutheran Church, interment to follow at Salisbury National Cemetery.
