Grafton Thomas “Tom” Maynard III, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at his home in North Carolina.
He was born September 30, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland; son of the late Grafton & Marjorie Maynard. Tom was a graduate of Howard High School in 1970. He was committed to his job at Giant Food where he worked for over 25 years.
Tom is survived by his former wife of 38 years, Janet Maynard; 3 daughters: Melanie Bowen, Brooke Salter & Samantha Zuniga; Father In-Law to Keith Bowen, Bridget Salter & Brendan Zuniga; 4 grandchildren: Cassie, Andy, Braeden & Camden. He is also survived by his 2 sisters Linda Crawford & Debbie Schmidt along with numerous nieces, a nephew, and friends.
In his younger days he enjoyed landscaping, decorating for Halloween & Christmas, vacations with his family to the beach, grilling, watching Baltimore football & baseball. He also enjoyed home improvements and spending time with his family.
There was a private celebration of life for Tom on Friday, December 30, 2022. In his words – “Sing with passion. Work with laughter. Love with heart. ‘Cause that’s all that matters in the end – Kris Kristofferson.” May Tom rest in peace and as he always said “Godspeed.”
