Don and Sharon always welcomed me into their home and treated me as if I was a family member, whenever our joint grandsons had an event in their lives. I will miss his sense of humor, funny stores, and the love he showered on his family. He and Sharon were always available to give life advise to our grandsons.
My deepest condolences to Sharon, Donna, Jake and their entire family.
    Much Love Merle Stroud

    To Sharon, Jake and Donna,
Please accept our condolences for your loss of a “one of a kind” human being.
Don was a unique individual. He had a heart of gold, he was first in line to offer
aid or assistance to anyone who needed it. He had the ability to be a student or a teacher.
When we were neighbors, together Don and I could find a project that needed fixing and
tackle it together. Our two families had more good times and memories together than
anyone could imagine. I always think of Don more like a brother than just a friend. Although
we are no longer neighbors, I know we are always in each others hearts. May he now rest in peace.

Sharon and family… I am so sorry to learn of Don’s passing. I loved living on Lakeview and our special slice of paradise there… and your friendship and always kind words of encouragement. I know ALL in his close family are feeling the loss of his big personality and heart. Fondly, Doug Cottrell

Don was a special classmate at Athens High School. Voted “wittiest” in our senior class, he always had a smile and was loved by us all.

Dear Sharon and family – the circle of life that Donald brought to everyone that he touched presents a special relationship that words do not adequately describe. He was my friend for such a long time. Memories are bountiful.

He was always on the up-beat side of life. He had a magnetic ability to bring all together. I’m sure that applies to all of Donald’s life.

We mourn today but will rejoice knowing that Donald is in Heaven awaiting the day of unity with us all.

Don and Sharon opened their home and hearts to me for small group bible study even when I wasn’t an attendee of the church. His openness, kindness, Christ-likeness continues to be an encouragement to me. He was a great man of faith and leaves a legacy that will continue to minister to us and others until we see him again with Jesus.

Don was a close friend at Athens High and I just recalled old stories with him a few weeks ago at our reunion. Although all who knew and loved him will miss him we can rejoice in knowing he is with Jesus. Sharon and family, I pray that God’s loving arms will comfort you and provide you with peace during your time of grief.

Donald was an Athens High classmate and a good friend. He always was smiling and joyful. I am so fortunate to have had an extended conversation with him at our recent 60th high school reunion during which he told me all about his life and his family.
Sharon, I am praying for you and all of your family.
