Velinda Black, 63, of Lincolnton, NC passed away on Saturday May 11, 2024. She was born in Lincoln County; she was the daughter of Jenson and Linda Shults.
Velinda enjoyed swimming in her pool, cooking for others, listening to music and playing with her 2 dogs (Gibby and Precious). She liked to have fun. She enjoyed singing karaoke, and at one time was an active golf player and enjoyed bowling.
Velinda was preceded in death by her little brother Scott Robert Brown and her dog Gibby.
She is survived by her only son Tory Honeycutt and his fiancée Tasha Chastain of Dallas, NC, her grandchildren Trevor Honeycutt, Tristin Honeycutt and Emma Pearl Honeycutt, She is also survived by her siblings Paula Witherspoon (Tom), Jenson Shults ll (Lisa), Jennifer Barnes (Matt), her life long best friend Terri Rumfelt who was there by her side with her son Tory and others until the very end.
The family will receive friends on Saturday May 18, 2024 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at River of Life Full Gospel Church; Mount Holly, NC 28120. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00PM. Officiating will be Pastor Judd Burnett.
