Robert Vernon Moose, age 81, of Denver, North Carolina, passed away on September 19, 2025. He was born to the late Dennis and Elnora Moose and grew up in a loving family that shaped the strong and kind man he became.
Robert was a proud United States Army veteran, with rank of Sergeant. His service earned him the National Defense Service Medal, a testament to his dedication and sacrifice. After his military service, Robert went on to have a successful career at Duke Energy’s McGuire Nuclear Station, where he retired after 25 years of loyal service.
In his personal life, Robert was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Anita, and a caring father to his daughter, Ashton. He was predeceased by his son, Robbie Moose, his sister Carole Hartness (Richard, Dennis), his sister Martha Frye (Steve), brother-in-law Danny Butler, and brother-in-law Chuck Elam.
Robert is survived by his wife Anita Moose and daughter Ashton Moose, sister Linda Elam. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Natalie Butler, Doug and Inge Davis, Kerry and Sylvia Brooks, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Robert had a wide array of interests and hobbies. He was an excellent tennis player, enjoyed hiking, camping, and nature. He loved to read and continued his pursuit of knowledge throughout his lifetime. He was inspiring to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2025, at Denver Baptist Church, 6917 Forest Hill Dr., Denver, NC, 28037. Receiving of friends will be from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert’s memory to Thompson Memorial Evangelical Methodist Church. Attention: April Torrence, 3441 Leaning Pine Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Memo cemetery fund. The Good Samaritan Funeral Home, Denver is serving the Moose family.
Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
