Linda Payne, 75, of Denver, North Carolina, passed away on November 27th, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Linda was born on December 15th, 1947, to Charles and Edna Rickards in Salisbury, Maryland. After graduating from Stephen Decatur High School in 1965, she went on to work 33 years in software management. She had a compassionate and giving heart towards others. She would have her husband stop on the side of the road to give money to people who needed it. She was soft hearted. She also participated in the RCIA program with her husband at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Denver, NC. She loved her family and loved others, and she will always be her husband Ron’s “Linda Bear”.
Besides her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her step-son Ernest Ronald Payne Jr.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Ernest Payne, her siblings Ginger Wilkinson and Eric Rickards, her 2 sons Matthew and Charles, her 2 granddaughters Alyssa and Brittany, and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 11:00AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church; 537 N NC 16 Business Denver, NC 28037. Visitation will be held prior to the mass from 10:00AM-10:50AM in the church.
Mrs. Payne will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.

I just found out about this! I loved Linda so much & I have missed her & thought about her often since I moved to the coast. My love to the family, especially Ron. God bless all.
