Joesph Robert “Bobby” Olivares

Joesph Robert “Bobby” Olivares, 68, of Denver passed away Friday December 8, 2023 at home with his loving wife Marsha and daughter Staci by his side. He was under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincolnton.

Bobby joined the Navy hoping to fly planes and travel the world. He had a love of trains, planes, and cars. He ran his own lawn business for 10 plus years. He had a passion for drawing and most importantly had a great love for his grandkids.

Bobby is preceded in death by his sister Sandy Shortt, brother Jim Hopkins, step-father Pete Gilbert, and his late wife Karen Rebecca Olivares.

He is survived by his wife Marsha of Denver; daughter Staci(Eric) of Denver; granddaughters Emily Moore, Kaitlyn Manley, Masyn Vaughn, Rilynn Addis; grandson Rhain Addis; mother Katharine “Kitty” Gilbert; sister Debbie(Michael) Harrington; brothers Ronnie and Donnie Hopkins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00PM. Bobby will be laid to rest at Denver Community Cemetery following the service with military honors.
