Carol Gove Bailey


Carol Gove Bailey, age 80, of Denver, North Carolina, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend  passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 28, 2026.

Born on December 17, 1945 in New York City, NY, and was preceded in death by her father, Ormond Gove, husband, Silas J. Bailey, mother, Irma Bryant, brother, Fred Gove, and grandson, Dale Bailey.

She is survived by her son, Edmund Bailey (Holly), daughter, JoAnn Bailey (Gary Farley), grandchildren, Taylor Zinaty (Justin), Nathaniel Bailey Eason (Katie), Silas Bailey, Christopher Jacob Eason, Skye Bailey, Jack Stetz, great-grandchildren, Luna Beck, Tatum Eason, Theo Beck and River Eason.

Carol grew up in Garden City, NY, graduated from Parsons College, IA, raised her children in Valatie, NY and moved to Jupiter, Florida as an empty-nester. She welcomed many visitors into her Florida home over the 23 years she loved residing there with her pets. She enjoyed walking her dogs near the beach, riding bikes with neighbors, working at Jo-Ann Fabrics, crafting and sewing making meaningful and sentimental items for others to enjoy, attending spring training games, watching tennis and NASCAR, and curating homes for her tiny mice. In 2016 she moved to Denver, NC to be near her family. She will be missed and remembered as loving, giving, independent, strong, very funny at times and always finding the  “happy” in every moment, good or bad.

A celebration of her life will take place March 28, 2026 from 9 am to 12 pm at Queen City Event Venues, Denver, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital St. Jude Children Research Hospital Donation Link, where her grandson, Jack received radiation treatment.
