Pasquale (Pat) Miele, 67, of Denver, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1, 2025. He was born in Bronx, New York, on July 12, 1958, to the late Angelo and Adelina Miele.
Pat was a bright young man who graduated from Christopher Columbus High School at the remarkable age of 15. After high school, he attended college to study architecture. However, being so young, he found it difficult to fit in with the older students and would go on to become a true jack of all trades. From owning a candy store, to working for the post office, and finally building a successful career in construction, Pat could do it all. While construction may not have been his passion, it was something he excelled at—just like everything else he set his mind to.
In 1976, Pat met the love of his life and soulmate, Laura. The two were married in September of 1980 and spent the first six years of their marriage traveling the world. Hawaii was one of their favorite destinations, and it held a special place in their hearts.
In May of 1986, Pat and Laura welcomed their twins, Krystina and Angelo. As a family of four, they built a wonderful life in Commack, New York, where they lived for over 30 years. Pat was the best father any child could ask for—devoted, selfless, and endlessly loving. He dedicated his life to ensuring his wife and children had everything they could ever need or want.
In 2019, Pat and Laura decided to follow their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren to North Carolina. Being close to his grandkids was one of the greatest joys of his life. After losing Laura in 2023, Pat began working as a bus driver for Lincoln Charter School, a job that allowed him to see his grandchildren every day. Becoming “Mr. Pat the bus driver” was one of the unexpected highlights of his later years.
Outside of work, Pat rediscovered his love for motorcycles and, eventually, scooters. He had a lifelong passion for anything with a motor. When he wasn’t behind the wheel of the bus or spending time with his grandkids, you could find him in his garage tinkering, fixing, or building something new. And of course, his bright yellow Corvette was one of his greatest joys.
Pat is survived by his two children—his daughter, Krystina, and her fiancé, Charlie, and his son, Angelo, and his wife, Shannon—as well as his three beloved grandchildren: Nicolas, Peyton, and Charles. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis (Dean), his brother, John (Josephine), and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved wife and soulmate of 49 years, Laura.
Pat will always be remembered for his huge heart and the way he was always there for everyone—ready to lend a helping hand, offer a shoulder to cry on, or simply listen. He had a genuine love for people and a true desire to make everyone’s world just a little bit brighter.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home. A Catholic Prayer Service will begin at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s honor to the Special Olympics
