Born on November 9, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York, Margaret was raised in Queens, where she formed the strong values of family, faith, and dedication that would guide her throughout her life. She began her professional career with Trans World Airlines (TWA), serving as secretary to the Head of Security. Later, while lovingly raising her children, she also worked part-time as a real estate agent, balancing her professional pursuits with her greatest joy—her family.
Margaret found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and cherished her time with her book clubs and church family. She also enjoyed watching her beloved New York Mets and relaxing while reading a good book. Above all, Margaret was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was their biggest supporter, a steady source of encouragement, and the heart of every family gathering.
Margaret was predeceased by her loving parents, Barney and Stella DiGiovanni.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Kutniewski Jr.; her sons, Joseph Kutniewski III, and his children Kai and Jake, and their mother, Taryn Kutniewski; and Justin Kutniewski and his wife Phoebe Kutniewski, and their children Jack and Stella. She is also survived by her brother, Bernard DiGiovanni and his wife Sandra DiGiovanni; her niece, Jocelyn Brice and her husband Brant; her nephew, Jason Nichols; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Margaret’s warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she so proudly nurtured.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church Denver, NC. The family will receive friends an hour before from 10:00am to 10:45am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation may be made to American Cancer Society in Margaret’s honor.
