Kathleen Deborah Ann Hennessy passed away May 24, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Born on June 29, 1961 in Beverly Hills, California, She was the daughter of Gunnel Alfhild (Sundqvist) and Ilmari Olavi Ahlgren.
From a young age, Kathleen had a deep and enduring love for nature and the outdoors. She spent countless days immersed in nature with friends & family and seeking out new places and experiences. She cherished visiting relatives in Finland and exploring the local sights, always finding beauty and adventure wherever life took her.
Kathleen met the love of her life, Raymond, when she was just 13 years old and he was 14. What began as a teenage friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership. They became inseparable, growing together and accompanying one another through every season of life. They shared countless adventures and special memories. You could often find them spending entire weekends boating on Lake Havasu with their beloved dogs, visiting the beaches of California, camping, hiking, or traveling the country.
Together they embarked on a lifelong journey—moving to new places, facing hardships side by side, meeting wonderful people, and celebrating some of life’s most beautiful moments together. Their teenage spark grew into more than 50 years of love, friendship, and partnership, crowned by 32 years of marriage. Together, they raised their daughter, Sierra, born January 26, 2002. Kathleen was a devoted, protective, and deeply loving wife and mother who gave everything she had to the happiness and well-being of her family. Raymond would often say that watching Kathleen become a mother was one of the most impactful and beautiful things he had ever witnessed.
Kathleen’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She had an extraordinary capacity for compassion and kindness. She led by example, showing those around her what it meant to be genuinely kind, selfless, and willing to lift others up—even when she was facing struggles of her own. To those who knew her best, Kathleen was one of the strongest people they had ever known.
Kathleen dedicated many years of her life to rescuing animals in need, opening her heart and her home to those who needed love and care. She regularly gave to charities and spent several years caring for her parents as they grew older, refusing to let them be separated from their home and family.
She devoted 30 years to a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating herself to work that demanded immense compassion, patience, strength, and humanity. Through her work, she cared for countless people and made a difference in the lives of those who needed her.
Kathleen Hennessy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, compassion, and kindness. For those fortunate enough to have known Kathleen, her absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. She touched the lives of everyone she encountered and will be remembered for her countless selfless acts, her beautiful perspective on life, her fierce strength, and, most of all, for the way she made people feel loved, safe, and never alone.
Her love, laughter, strength, kindness, and adventurous spirit will live on in all of us.
