George H. Ward Jr., 72, of Denver, NC. (formerly of Auburn, NY.) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Brian Center in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
George was born in Auburn, New York. He was the son of the late George H. and Fannie D. Ward.
George is survived by his brothers, W. Barry (Karen) Ward of Denver, North Carolina and Joseph (Sandy) Ward Sr. of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma; nieces Clair Ward of Massachusetts and Jamie Harris of Oklahoma; one nephew Steven of Arizona and several great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Walter.
George was a very “Special Person” who touched the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He will be sadly missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Terrell Baptist Church 4196 Slanting Bridge Road Sherrills Ford, North Carolina 28673. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Auburn, New York at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s memory can be made to a charity of your own choosing or to Terrell Baptist Church.
