Benedict John Pepitone, 90, of Denver, NC (formerly of Warsaw, Indiana) passed away on March 13, 2017 in the Marian Center of Sacred Heart Convent, Belmont, NC. Born on February 4, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY,. he was the son of the late Benedicto and Lillian (nee Lambert) . Mr. Pepitone served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a Past Commander of VFW Post #1126 and member of American Legion Post #49 both located in Warsaw. Mr. Pepitone was employed as a truck driver before retiring.
Besides his parents, Mr. Pepitone was preceded in death by his loving wife, Theresa Maryann Pepitone and his daughter, Lillian Pepitone.
He is survived by his children Benedict (Marie) Pepitone, Neil (Doris) Pepitone, Sandra Pepitone, Sr. Patricia Pepitone RSM, Mark Pepitone and Jennie (Randy) Bassett; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Sacred Heart Convent 500 Sacred Heart Circle Belmont, NC.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Salisbury National Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Pepitone’s memory to the Sisters of Mercy 100 Mercy Drive Belmont, NC 28012 would be deeply appreciated.
