Eugene Albert Riffe, 72, passed away Thursday June 18, 2026 at Atrium Health Lincolnton Hospital. He was born in Welch County, West Virginia on January 17, 1954. He was the son of the late John and Tressie Cline Riffe.
He was an adamant wilderness camper and loved hiking at Mount Mitchell and Blue Ridge Parkway. By trade, he was a multigraphic printer for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Jesse and T.J. Riffe of Denver. NC; his sisters Ginny Kitchen and Carol Clegg of Columbus, OH; his sons Redford Riffe of Daytona Beach, FL and Joshua Riffe of Denver, NC; his brothers-in-laws Rocky and Dennis; and his sister-in-law Lori Sturgill of Jackson, OH.
He is survived by his loving wife Denise Riffe of Denver, NC; his son Randy Freeman and bonus son Paul Harris of Columbus, OH; bonus daughter Heather Imes of Denver, NC; sister-in-law Tonya Roe of Denver, NC; his grandsons Randy Freeman Jr, Trevor Freeman, Jared Freeman, Eli Baisden, Jeramy Riffe of Jackson, OH and Nathaniel Riffe of Denver. NC; his brothers Roger (Sandra) Blankenship of VA and Jerry (Judy) Cline of CA; 4 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson.
