Leslie Allen Werth

Leslie Allen Werth, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Iron Station, NC on May 23, 2026, at the age of 88.

A devoted man of God, Les lived his life guided by faith, kindness, humility, and service to others. He faithfully served as a deacon at East Lincoln Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a steady source of encouragement, wisdom, and spiritual leadership to his church family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying the values of honor, dedication, and strength throughout his life.

Les, retired as produce manager from Hamby Brothers in Flint, Michigan. In 1991, he moved to Iron Station, North Carolina, where he continued his career for many years as produce manager at Food Lion. He was known for his strong work ethic, friendly smile, and dedication to serving others 

Above all, he loved his family deeply. He treasured time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and loved ones, always offering wisdom, encouragement, and unwavering support. His family was his greatest blessing and the center of his life.

Les found joy in the simple things — casting a fishing line on a quiet morning, tending to his garden with care, and gathering around the table for a spirited game of Pinochle with family and friends. He had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and valued, and his laughter and stories will be dearly missed.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion that will continue to live on in all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Werth; son, Les Werth Jr.; Grandchildren, Matt (Michelle), Josh (Hannah), Geoff (Brittany), Mandy (Spencer), Jessica (Norm); and 12 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Erma Werth; sister, Margie Gooding; brothers, John, Harold and Charlie Werth; son, Gary Werth; daughter, Karen Werth and great-granddaughter, Karen Ava Werth
