Jake John McFee

Jake John McFee passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025 at home on Lake Norman in Denver, North Carolina, surrounded by his family and his dog, Ellie Mae.
 
Jake was an avid outdoorsman, a lover of dogs, and a deeply beloved father, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend.
 
He is survived by his wife Anne McFee, his son John (Rachel) McFee of Candler, North Carolina, his brother Joe (Barbara) McFee of Burnsville, North Carolina, and countless adored nieces and nephews.
 
Jake was born to parents Lennie and Ida Mae McFee on December 21, 1935 in Candler, North Carolina. He was preceded in heaven by his parents, five of his siblings— Goree Wilson, Celia Singleton, Bud McFee, Sarah James, and Willy McFee— and his niece Kate Gaddy.
 
Jake grew up on the family farm in the mountains of Candler, North Carolina. He served in the United States Air Force 1951–1954 both at home and abroad.
 
After his service he had a brief stint as a bar owner, followed by 60 years in the automotive industry in the greater Charlotte area, 36 of those years were spent with Rick Hendrick’s City Chevrolet.
 
Anne and Jake celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on “August the last” of this year.
 
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life led by Dr. Jeff Pinkston at 2:00pm at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church 6701 Pleasant Grove Road Charlotte, NC 28216-0144,
 
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jake’s memory to the Oasis Shriners. Memorial Gifts may be made by check via mail to 604 Doug Mayes Place, Charlotte, NC 28262, or over the phone by calling 704-549-9052.
