Melba Elizabeth Fisher Scott

Melba Elizabeth Fisher Scott, 82, of Charlotte went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Melba was born in Lexington County, Columbia, South Carolina to the late Sara and Joseph Fisher. Later, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and was raised by her parents, the late Sara and Joe McClung. In addition to her parents, Melba was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Michael Scott, Sr.; sisters Bonnie McClung and Kathy Broome.

Melba is survived by her children Sarah Scott Crump-Gatton, Donna Marie Scott Ostergren and her husband, Mike, Rev. Donald Michael Scott, Jr. and his wife, Cyndi. She was also proud of her 9 grandchildren Matthew Crump, Sabrina Ostergren, Taylor Ostergren Jones and her husband, Trent, Evan Ostergren, Jon Micah Scott and his wife, Alexia, Kimberly Scott, Stephen Scott, Eli Scott and Marybeth Scott. She was also the loving great grandmother of 4 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Scott retired after 20 plus years from Child Care Network in Charlotte, NC. She was a longtime member and Sunday School Teacher at Thomasboro Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. She later became a member of  Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station, NC.

Melba will be remembered mostly as a loving wife, mother and friend to all. She loved the beach “not because of the sand, water or sun, but because it made her think of family!”

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery 4601 Freedom Drive Charlotte, NC. 28208. Pastor Dr. Dennis Benton will officiate.
