Kathy Gail Homesley, born March 6, 1956, in Lincolnton, North Carolina, passed away on October 3, 2025. She was 69 years old.
A lifelong resident of Lincolnton, Kathy was a learner, earning her Associates degree from Gaston College and participating in numerous continuing education classes over the years. Kathy’s career in childcare and child development was impactful and fulfilling; she spent her entire career in the profession – as the director at Boger City Day Nursery and as a teacher and assistant director at Learning Land Children’s Center. Kathy was a member of Boger City Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, collecting dolphins, and spoiling her family members with attention and gifts. She liked color, funny stories, and good food.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Homesley and Irene Christopher Homesley, as well as her brothers, Michael Allen Homesley and John Gary Homesley.
She is lovingly remembered by her nephews Darren Homesley, Bryan Homesley, and Travis Homesley; nieces Kendall Homesley Robinson, Shannon Homesley, and Whitney Homesley Horton; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Kathy’s presence brought warmth and kindness to those who knew her, and she held a special place in the hearts of her family.
Kathy was loved by many and will be dearly missed. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and cherished her. A visitation will be held on October 18, 2025, from 9:00-9:45 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main St.
