James “Jim” William Beam, 85, of Denver, NC, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Novant Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Talmage William “T.W.” Beam and Pearl Hamrick Beam, his wife, Linda Marie Mitchell Beam; and his uncle and aunt, Jimmie Dwight Allen and Margaret Beam Allen.
Jim loved deeply and lived fully. A long-time friend aptly stated that if there was one word to describe Jim, it would be the word “Generous”. He was the most generous person any of us knew. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Paul Edwards for his tireless devotion, kindness, and loving care of Jim over the past four years. Paul helped provide Jim with a beautiful quality of life in his final years.
In addition, the family wishes to thank the nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors, palliative care team and hospice care team at Novant Medical Center for their compassionate care, dignity and support during Jim’s final days as well as the support that they provided to Jim’s loved ones during a very difficult time
Funeral Service is on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 3:00pm at Salem United Methodist Church, 378 North Pilot Knob Road, Denver, NC 28037. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
