Dennis S. Esliger,73, of Denver, N.C. and formerly of Bolton, CT, passed from this world on 5/25/2025 at his home with his beloved wife, Janis, and loving children at his side. He was the son of William Joseph Esliger and Verna Murray Esliger and he grew up in Manchester, CT. He is survived by his brother William D. Esliger ( his wife Jenny), of Port Charlotte, Florida and his sister Darcy ( her husband Jeff Graham) of Leesville, S.C.
Dennis loved his children, Richard Russo, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas(his wife Bernita) ,Randy Russo, of Westminster, Colorado (Pam Eastwood), Alycia Esliger McNutt,( her husband Dan) of Stafford Springs, CT. and granddaughters Natalie, Mackenzie and Felicity.
Dennis was a dedicated special education teacher for the State of CT. Dept of Children and Families in East Windsor, CT. Teaching was his calling and he often incorporated unique teaching strategies to assist his students to learn and strive in school He also brought his talents to his community as an 8 year elected official on the Bolton Board of Education and recreational coach for t-ball and basketball .
As a Knight of Columbus for over 35 years, he spent many hours as an active member of Saint Maurice Church in Bolton. His favorite activity was cooking pancakes with his special recipe for Sunday pancake breakfasts.
Fishing ,hunting, and boating were frequently on his agenda. He also loved vintage cars, but his talents also extended to building a family cottage in New Hampshire and his log home in CT. He was an avid gardener and was especially proud of his roses and fruit trees
The family extends their gratitude to the caring staff at Levine Cancer ,Huntersville and VIA Health Partners in Lincolnton. A special thanks to Patti Zacchera, of Huntersville, NC for her love and support to the family.
As per his wishes, a Celebration of Life is being planned for a future date.
Memorials can be made to his favorite charities the American Cancer Society and Tunnel to Towers.
