Bobby Lane Thomas, born April 11, 1952, in Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Lowesville, North Carolina.
Bobby was a devoted father, man of faith, and faithful friend whose life was marked by service, hard work, and reliability. He is survived by his beloved sons, Reid Thomas and Hunter Thomas, who were the pride and joy of his life.
A man deeply rooted in his Christian faith, Bobby earned a Master of Divinity and served as a youth pastor, dedicating his early ministry to guiding and encouraging young people. Even after transitioning into a career in hardware sales, his calling never left him. He remained actively involved in the church as a Sunday school leader, consistently sharing his faith with his family and joyfully fellowshipping with other believers.
Music was one of Bobby’s great passions. An accomplished guitarist, he played at several churches, including Lucia, and found deep joy in playing and singing praise music. He also loved classic rock, especially the Eagles, and music was often a way he connected with both God and others.
Bobby was known for his strong work ethic and simple way of life. He valued honest labor and was rarely idle. Even when not on the clock, he could be found working around the house—doing yard work, repairing cars and lawn mowers, or fixing tools he brought home from work. A true DIY master, he took pride in fixing things with his own hands.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature whenever he could. These moments reflected his appreciation for God’s creation and provided him peace and joy.
Above all, Bobby was reliable. Family and friends knew they could call him at any time, and he would be there to help without hesitation. If Bobby said he was going to do something, it was done. His quiet dependability and steady presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Bobby Thomas will be remembered for his faith, his music, his work ethic, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his sons and the many lives he touched through service, friendship, and love.
