Mr. Charlie Robert Crouse, age 74, of Maiden, passed away June 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1951, in Lincoln County.
Charlie, son of the late Robert and Lottie Crouse,
was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina. He attended Lincolnton High School then retired from Denver Plumbing. Charlie met his best friend and wife, Tanya Summerville Crouse, in Denver where they raised their daughters Jennifer Purkey (Ryan)and Katie Crouse (Allison Starnes.)
Charlie’s greatest joy came from time spent with his wife, daughters and three grandchildren Lexis, Bella, Chris who affectionately called him Pee-Paw. He never missed a ball game and was their biggest fan in the stands! The Crouses created many memories while enjoying time together as a family. From fishing to guitar playing, family was the most important part of Charlie’s life. Visiting Galax, Virginia for the annual Fiddler’s Convention was a highlight for him every year.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Sonny Summerville and his sisters Judy Holland and Mary Miller.
The Crouse family will receive friends Friday, July 11 from 1:00-2:00 at The Good Samaritan Funeral Home in Denver with the funeral to follow at the Good Samaritan Chapel. Pastor Jeff Harris with officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Charlie to the following nonprofit organizations:
