James Glen Alexander

James Glen Alexander, 80, of Denver North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hornell, New York, Jim was the youngest of ten children. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy.

Jim was employed as a Sales Executive for Heraeus Inc. for 42 years. Known for his big smile and warm personality, Jim never met a stranger—he could strike up a conversation with anyone and always left them smiling. His sense of humor, outgoing nature, and love for life were infectious.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Sue Alexander; his son, Tim Alexander (Amy) of Concord, NC; and his daughter, Lisa Spencer (Tyson) of Spofford, NH. He was a proud grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters: Madison and Grace Alexander, and Hannah and Vivian Spencer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews along with his two sisters, Mary Studley and Carol Rice, both of upstate New York.

Jim found joy in the simple pleasures of life—traveling with Sue, playing golf with friends, cheering on his granddaughters in all their endeavors, and tending to his yard with a Rum and Diet Coke in hand.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on July 20th from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Verdict Ridge Country Club in Denver NC. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life well lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.givenowlls.org), Tunnel to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org), or Hornell Alumni Association (www.hornellalumni.org) causes that were close to Jim’s
