Rhonda Helton Pease

Rhonda Helton Pease, 73, passed away at home on June 14, 2025. Born on February 5, 1952, Rhonda was the daughter of the late Stewart and Katherine Helton.

A proud graduate of East Lincoln High School, Rhonda went on to earn an Associate Degree from Central Piedmont Community College. She dedicated many years of service to Duke Power before she and her beloved husband, Stacy, pursued a shared dream—starting their own small irrigation company. Together, they found joy in working outdoors and building something with their hands.

Rhonda had a vibrant spirit and a deep love for people. She had a gift for conversation and made lasting connections wherever she worked. Her warm smile and generous hugs were hallmarks of her time at Harbor House, Lowesville Automotive, Sportspage, and Walmart. Customer service wasn’t just a job for Rhonda—it was her calling.

She treasured every moment spent with Stacy. Whether cruising the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, enjoying a meal at the Dan’l Boone Inn, staying overnight at the Pisgah Inn, or making spontaneous trips to Charleston, SC, their love for adventure and each other was evident to all who knew them.

Above all, Rhonda loved being a mother and grandmother. She was immensely proud of her son Chris and absolutely adored her granddaughter Grace, who affectionately called her “Mawmaw.” Rhonda was famous for her homemade brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and rice crispy treats—always baked with love.

A woman of deep faith, Rhonda loved the Lord Jesus Christ and shared His love freely. She often told others how God had blessed her life and was quick to offer a prayer to anyone in need. In recent years, she found a spiritual home at Real Life Church in Stanley, NC.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her devoted husband Stacy; her sisters Peggy Lee of Seneca, SC, and Becky York of Charlotte, NC; and her nephew Robbie York.

She is survived by her son, Chris Pease of Denver, NC; granddaughter, Grace Chheda of Charlotte, NC; sister, Shelia Wyke (Eddie) of Stanley, NC; sister-in-law, Polly VizCaino (Paco) of Charlotte, NC; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 3:00 with service to follow at 4:30. The service will be held at Denver Baptist Church Main Worship Center in Denver, NC.
