Frederick M. Dantico – United States Air Force

Frederick M. Dantico, 79, of Denver, NC . passed away on May 21, 2014 at Sherrills Ford Hospice House. Born on June 26, 1934, in Passaic, NJ. he was the son of the late Isabel Gurski and Michael Dantico.

Fred served in the United States Air Force from 1952 (Korea) to 1972 (Vietnam). He was also employed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant before his retirement. Fred had a wonderful sense of humor, was an avid fisherman and would sometimes tell others not to take themselves so seriously. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Besides his parents, Fred was also preceded in death by his daughters, Marguerite Dantico of Colorado and Olivia Shull of Arizona; brothers, William Dantico of New York and Michael Dantico of New Jersey

Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; son William Dantico of Colorado; daughter Roberta of Florida; granddaughter, Regina Dantico of Florida; stepdaughter, Kristin and husband, Ryan Benesowitz of Denver; many nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Lady.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 537 Highway 16 North, Denver, NC 28037. The Celebrant will be Rev. Father Carmen V. Malacari, Pastor. Inurnment with full Military Honors will take place at 11:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2014 at Salisbury National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fred’s memory to Catawba Regional Hospice Foundation 3975 Robinson Road Newton, NC 28658 or to you local Humane Society would be deeply appreciated

    I miss you so much dad, I know you are with the angels now. I will see you again one day I know and we will rejoice and celebrate together !!!

    So many dear memories, and kind thoughts of my uncle. A friend, a father figure, a mentor. I will always remeber the laughs, the philosophy, and of course, the moments on the water together.

    Fred was a good friend and a lot of fun to play poker with. I will miss his friendship.
